So I’ll tell you I didn’t jump up and down and do the happy dance when Pantone made it’s choice for Color of the Year. It’s not that I hate purple, but looking around my house I realized I mustn’t care for it that much. The only evidence of purple is the lilac we did in Anna’s room when we first moved here. I won’t show you a picture of it today because it currently has twenty different turquoise paint swatches patiently waiting in a row for a decision.
But looking through my Pinterest boards I have noticed that a little purple, brought in with art, throws, pillows, bedding or accessories can look really pretty. Purple actually looks good when paired with many different colors. In our bedroom, I’ve kept it minimal with only cream and light blue. I wanted a serene feel, but recently I’ve been thinking it might need a little punch or either pink or purple. These pictures and products might inspire you to pack a small purple punch in your home. Key word for Kevin will be “small”.
One Kings Lane/Beside the Bed, Versailles Carafe & Glass
I had to throw this under bedding to say that a guest room is a perfect place to introduce purple into your home if you are unsure. It’s makes a pretty guest space and you don’t have to look at it everyday. And a bedside carafe and glass is one of my favorite touches in a guest room.

Okay, now I’ve got to go break it to Kevin that I want more purple in our life…wish me luck. So whether you’ve always loved purple or are on the fence, I hope this gave you some inspiration. You could start with some fresh flowers of dive right in with an entire purple room like this laquered beauty below.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by. 🙂
